College Placement Testing
College Placement Testing
New Jersey’s community colleges administer the ACCUPLACER® exam to determine student placement levels in Math and English courses for your general education requirements.
ACCUPLACER® is an untimed, multiple choice test taken on a computer. (Some colleges use a timed, paper version.) It consists of reading comprehension, sentence skills, essay writing, and math. The computer version of ACCUPLACER® is a computer- adaptive test where the questions you see are based on your answers to previous questions.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you adequately prepare for ACCUPLACER® before taking the exam using any of the free resources listed below. Taking the time to prepare now could save you a lot of time and money if you place immediately into college-level courses which will count toward your degree.
